Strategic Economic Contribution: A TS2023 Engineer Supporting Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy
By TS2023.ca on January 06, 2026
My success story in Canada began in 2021, when I first arrived in Canada with the goal of building a new future for myself. I started from the very beginning—improving my English, adapting to a new culture, and completing my studies so that I could pursue the career I truly wanted. As I was strengthening my language skills and gaining the education I needed, life took an unexpected turn back home. My family was deeply affected by the 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye. The home I grew up in was destroyed. My family was fortunate to survive, but our home now exists only in our memories. Receiving the TS2023 work permit allowed me not only to support my family during this difficult period, but also to continue building my career path in Canada. This opportunity gave me the stability I needed to help my family from afar while staying focused on my long-term goals.
Today, I am proud to work as an engineer/planner at a company that contributes to Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy. In my role, I combine the knowledge and skills I gained in Türkiye with the experience I have developed here in Canada. I work to make production processes more efficient and effective, and every day I feel myself moving forward in my career.
Moving to Canada was the beginning of a challenging but rewarding journey—one that taught me resilience, adaptability, and confidence. When I look back, I see how far I have come, and I am excited for everything that lies ahead. I will never forget the support I received from Canada and Canadians during the darkest times for my family, and I am truly grateful for it.
