Addressing Canada’s Childcare Needs: A TS2023 Entrepreneur’s Journey from Türkiye to Establishing a Local Daycare

By TS2023.ca on January 06, 2026

my journey in Canada is a testament to the resilience and professional dedication enabled by the TS2023 program. In Türkiye, I owned and operated a successful kindergarten for years. Upon arriving in Canada, I committed myself to the profession I know best: nurturing and educating the next generation.

Opening a daycare in a new country was a formidable challenge. I had to navigate entirely different regulations, complex licensing requirements, and new cultural dynamics. After an intense period of hard work, our daycare is now a thriving reality. Today, I don’t just run a business; I create jobs by employing several qualified educators, and I provide an essential service that allows dozens of Canadian parents to go to their own jobs with peace of mind. Every morning, these families trust us with their children’s safety and development, and this trust is the foundation of the world we have built here.

The TS2023 program required us to be self-sufficient immediately upon arrival. In a professional landscape as competitive as Canada’s, it was never a luxury or a possibility to simply "work for three years and leave." To secure a meaningful position or start a business like mine, one has to invest everything—emotionally, professionally, and financially. We did not build these roots as a temporary stopgap; we built them to last, aligning our deepest expertise with Canada’s urgent need for high-quality childcare. This has been a true "win-win" for the Canadian economy and our families.

However, the approaching expiry of our permits brings an indescribable uncertainty. To think that after three years of overcoming immense hurdles, we might have to leave behind the children we care for and the community we serve is heartbreaking. Contributing to Canada is more than just a fiscal figure; it is the daily support we provide to the workforce and the stability we offer to Canadian families.

We want to continue growing alongside Canada and contributing to the future of the country that gave us a second chance. We sincerely hope for a permanent pathway that recognizes the long-term value and vital services we provide to our communities.
